A large number of silly entanglements starring a family of friendly members who find themselves inescapably transported in time from 1991 to 2022.

A sympathetic comedy wiith a lot of humor, this time based on the contrast of two very different eras: the nineties and the contemporary. A lightweight plot, starring the loony couple played by Javier Gutiérrez and Carmen Machi sink their teeth into the time-travel jokes and it turns out a fun and enjoyable experience. We are facing a fantasy genre film in which a family travels from 1991 to 2022, thus missing the great year that was '92'. The family formed by José Luis (Javier Gutiérrez), Pilar (Carmen Machi, and children: Lucía (Carla Díaz) and Rodrigo (Asier Rikarte) begins their vacation on the beach. After arguing loudly with her father, the rebellious Lucía (Carla Díaz) runs away to spend her birthday with her boyfriend instead of with her family. On the beach, what was going to be a simple walk on the sea turns into a nightmare when a gigantic electrical storm catches them unexpectedly. Upon returning to dry land, they discover that they have traveled to the year 2022, a future crazier than they had ever imagined, full of smartphones, selfies and rap music. After the initial shock they decide to look for Lucía but discover that she died 30 years ago during a "Heroes of Silence" concert. José Luís is not willing to accept what happened and will not hesitate to resort to new technologies, crazy fortune tellers (Silvia Abríl, Antonia San Juan) and whatever it takes in order to return to 1991 and try to save Lulú.

A fun and quirky time travel comedy in which there is entertainment, fantasy, hints of humor and silly incidents. There are enjoyable situations when our protagonists are transported more than thirty years into the future and each one tries to handle it in a different way, attempting to fit in as much as possible. Thus, Rodrigo tries to be a teenager of the new era and finally manages to flirt, the mother Pilar is determined to help her family move forward in this new reality, looking for and getting a job and making friends; while daddy José Luis is not resigned to this new life and will do anything to return to the past. There are a few brief dramatic moments when the daughter goes missing, prompting a desperate race to get her back. A father who is a slave to time and with outdated customs drags his family into a boring and constricted life, which creates clashes with a young woman who lives far ahead of him. Of course there is comedy because the rebellion of the children and the incompetence of the father turn them into a dysfunctional family.

Needless to say, just like in titles like 'Demolition Man', 'Back to the Future' or ' The visitors', surprisingly, the latter film became a huge hit both in France and internationally, becoming one of the most successful films in the entire history of French cinema; but with ¨Mañana es hoy (2022)¨ it didn't happen, passing almost secretly through Spanish cinemas. The basis of humor lies in the differences between one era and another, especially technological ones. 'Tomorrow is today' is full of jokes about Spain then and now. Javier Gutiérrez and Carmen Machi make a completely surrealist and delight duo playing a geeky and offbeat marriage while trying to cope with the cultural and technological changes which makes the humor spontaneous and genuinely funny. It exploits how we currently have a much more open and crazy culture in the eyes of people from thirty years ago. The euros, Felipe VI, smartphones, toplessness, robot vacuum cleaners, precarious contracts. Any time in the past was better, this film tells us every now and then. There is also crude and gross humor , as well as sex remarks, which does not make it available to all the public. The picture is a fantasy comedy with action, giggles, tongue-in-cheek and is pretty entertained. The main amusement is to watch how our two protagonists react to a modern city replete with technology, and specifically modern things and state-of-art tools , but they always manage to take it one step further, resulting in unexpected consequences.

The cinematography by Angel Amorós is luxurious as well as colorful, being filmed in various locations, such as: Móstoles, Madrid, Villajoyosa, Alicante, Benidorm, Comunidad Valenciana, Guadalajara, Castilla-La Mancha and Madrid . Atmospheric and lively musical score by Juanjo Javierre , adding some catching songs at the time. The motion picture was uneven and skillfully directed by Nacho G Velilla. This director was born in Zaragoza , Aragon , location where he often shoots his flicks . He is a good director , producer and writer, expert on comedies and especially known for ¨Villaviciosa De Al Lado¨ , "Fuera de carta (Chef's Special) ", ¨No Manches Frida¨ , ¨No Lo Llames Amor... Llámalo X¨ , ¨Perdiendo El Norte¨ , as well as his successful TV series , such as ¨Aida¨ with Carmen Machi , ¨Siete Vidas¨ , ¨Fenómenos¨ , ¨Buscando El Norte¨. Rating : Acceptable and passable , 6/10 . The picture will appeal to Spanish comedy enthusiasts, though it also packs confusion, mayhem, bad taste , profanity and big fun .

If there has been a change in 30

I think Spain is the best place to show the magnitude of change that happened in 30 years, I saw it first hand , how Madrid changed from a village to a metropolis, this film is just on point, not to mention funny with a touch of Almodóvar in it. Be warned it is definitely not for everyone. The characters are over developed as it is commonly done in Spanish comedies, but funny and fresh and it will help a lot if you speak Spanish of course. And as all time travle movies , the disparity plays the biggest part by comparison to our selves , did we really feel this huge change in our life amd what would we do if we are thrown in the future 30 years from now?

A Farce, But A Deliberate One

If you are fed up of Hollywood time-travel movies then come see this old fashioned Euro-style farce. It is silly, it is crude in places, but it is always with a smile. Think Birdcage (but not as sharp).

A disfunctional 90s family are transported to the 2022s and discover some shocking facts about what happened after they left. It feels like it was made in the 90s which I think is the reason people are very down on this odd little gem.

If you are expecting Rick & Morty then avoid, but if you fancy something a Little different and don't mind that it doesn't make a great deal of sense in places then come and enjoy the ride.
